2013 Arrogant Frog Ribet Red Cabernet Merlot Wine pairing with Président Double Brie Cheese - Cheese & Alcohol Pairings

2013 Arrogant Frog Ribet Red Cabernet Merlot

2013 Arrogant Frog Ribet Red Cabernet Merlot’s overall intensity of fruit, fine-grained structure and soft acidity are balanced against the classic creamy flavours and supple textures of Président Double Brie.

It comes from the Languedoc’s Herault Valley. A Mediterranean climate, warm dry growing season and great vineyard sites bring perfect ripening conditions. The modern winery near Pézenas, the birthplace of France’s greatest playwright Molière, features state-of-the-art winemaking practices.

This superb young dry red wine typically shows ripe cassis redcurrant aromas, generous blackcurrant, chocolaty flavours and smooth slinky textures. I am always impressed by the balance, density and drive of this wine. Winemaker Jean Claude Mas has a special eye for winemaking and a stylish understated sense of humour. These virtues are combined to bring the hilariously clever Arrogant Frog label and one of the best value wines in the world.

This is a marriage that can only be consummated by good company and great conversation!
