The 2012 Yarnbomb McLaren Vale Shiraz buoyant and voluminous style is perfectly suited to the richness and density of Président Triple Cream Brie, with each element bringing out the best in each other.
It was made by first cousins Brioni Oliver and Corrina Wright, an inspirational winemaking team who represent the essence of Australian winemaking sensibility. Their warmth, sense of family and generosity of spirit, are all characters that give value and meaning to this historic place which was first established in 1841.
Yarnbomb Shiraz is named in honour of their ‘Gran” whose quirky knitting exploits include kitting out the cellar staff with warm socks during winter and “yarn bombing” old vines into multi-coloured sculptures. These gestures of transforming the common place into something of beauty are reflected in this gorgeously seductive Shiraz. Dark blackberry, dark chocolate, violet aromas, saturated dark fruit, pane forte flavours, inky textures, fine loose knit satin tannins and underlying savoury oak complexity are typical of this vintage.
